Yep, with Natalie Portman:  http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/movies/2009/12/11/2009-12-11_natalie_portman_to_star_in_produce_pride_and_prejudice_and_zombies_movie_of_best.html

Then again, The Lovely Bones was made into a movie, so it won't be the worst book adapted in recent times.

I think the movies have a better chance of being not quite fucking awful. Movies never follow the book, so they will make more changes. The thing that makes me boil over with rage about these books, is that they barely change anything. Swapping a word, or adding a sentence here and there is not being creative.

Agreed.  I thought the movie adaptation of "The Road" was much better than the book -- although in this case that's not to say the book sucked.

Cunty, however, is showing his true measure as a writer here.

Daggy is already trying to talk him into "writing" a sequel, tentatively titled THROUGH THE LOOKING GHASTLY.  I wish I was joking.

Precisely.  You could almost do one of these books simply using your Find & Replace command.

He would.  That little shit wants to be the biggest fish in the guppy pond, so he'll drag down anyone he can.

To be fair, the title was Frank Menser's idea, and I think he might have been being sarcastic. At least I hope so. And not to derail Tomo from his unflinching eye on Cunty Cook's magnum opus, but isn't this the same guy who keeps talking about how horror should be original, shocking, envelope pushing? And then he goes with the least original idea and publisher around?

MARY!!!

I need to invoke the power of toast more often.

Sorry I didn't get to chapter 2 today. My hands are killing me today, so I've been trying not to do a lot of typing.

I doubt the guy's kidding, as he seems to be front and center with those  s every time they show up... and Cook, what a powerhouse, huh?

I'd like to have "NOT QUITE FUCKING AWFUL" on my tombstone. It's perfect.

And hey, good to see you, Mary!
